WALK DESCRIPTION
The Green in Stoneleigh.
A very pleasant and varied short walk of historical interest starting in the centre of Stoneleigh.
A stile free walk starting at The Green in Stoneleigh village. The first footpath leads from a Medieval bridge which was widened in the early 19th century by John Rennie, then through Saint Mary the Virgin churchyard. Later it passes through the Stoneleigh Estate on the way to Stareton. The return route crosses the Stare Bridge before again passing through the Stoneleigh Estate . Later Wentworth House is passed on the return to the start of the walk. The Stoneleigh Village Club, near to The Green, welcomes visitors.
