Walk E - Hatton & Shrewley
WALK DESCRIPTION
A varied walk along canalside and open fields passing places of of historical interest.
Starting from The Hatton Arms the path leads down to the Grand Union Canal where one has the view of the Hatton Flight. Continuing alongside the the canal snacks are available at the Hatton Locks Cafe. After a stretch alongside the the canal and M40 motorway the village of Shrewley is reached. The Durham Ox pub is passed whilst the Grand Union Canal passes through a tunnel under the road, a tunnel to the left leads to the towpath.
On the return the church of the Holy Trinity is passed as well as the entrance to Haseley Manor before reaching The Hatton Arms.
PARKING
Permission has been given by the owner or manager for walkers to leave their vehicles in the car park on the understanding that they will patronise the establishment either before or after the walk.
An alternative start point is the Hatton Locks car park (small charge) signposted on the A4177 near the pub at Hatton.
