Walk Q - University of Warwick & Crackley

WALK  DESCRIPTION

Starting point:

The  Varsity public house (Parking - Pay & display) on Gibbet Hill Road. An alternative starting place is Crackley Lane (waypoint 7 on the map).

The walk and Places of interest:

A pleasant and varied walk with woods, farmland and the University of Warwick.

From the Varsity pub the walk starts by passing through the University of Warwick campus then on to the playing fields before taking the cycleway route to Kenilworth.

After a U turn the walk continues along the Kenilworth Greenway before entering Crackley Wood. From Crackley Farm, Finham Brook is crossed and then passes Roughknowles Wood before turning south again to pass under the Kenilworth Greenway. With another change of direction across farmland, and passing Broadwells Wood, Crackley Lane is reached.

The last stretch involves a walk along Crackley Lane and over more fields to reach Westwood church. Then a short walk back to the Varsity pub.

Park in the Varsity car park.

This is a pay & display car park.

DIVERSIONS

There  are no diversions on this walk.

Change to first sentence of the main walk text in the book.

The road has been changed to a pedestrianised zone with a twenty mph speed limit. The text should now read:

...to just before the end of the pedestrianised zone and an entrance on the right.
